Bombat Music(Audio) Review: Delightful!
By Raju Shanbhag After
a disappointing Madesha where composer Mano Murthy drew the first blood
through his music even before the release of the film, he is back in
his familiar terrain. Here, he works with familiar lyricists and
singers and comes up with a highly likeable album. This one may not be
as big as Mungaru Male or Milana; but who knows, the songs are good and
when Ganesh renders them on screen with Ramya, anything is possible!
Mathinalli Helalarenu (Male Version):
Here we are again. You can almost visualize Ganesh spreading his hands
in his signature style and the camera flying above him in the slow
motion. The melodious combination of Mano Murthy, lyricist Jayant
Kaikini and Sonu Nigam is back with another beautiful sound track. But
a word of caution for lyricist Jayant Kaikini; although his lyrics
brought a fresh lease of air to the Kannada film industry, he seems to
be getting taken over by his own skills. The phrases like “I am a love
patient; Please don’t cure me” give you a sense of déjà vu where you
can see torrential rains and high flying kites. It will be really nice
if Jayant Kaikini can look beyond death, murder and pain while writing
about love.
Strawberry Kenne: Lyricist Kaviraj
writes about Strawberry cheeks and Cadbury hearts. Like those yummy but
perishable confectionaries, this song may sound delicious, but has a
perishable nature to it. Singer Rajesh Krishnan is surprisingly off the
track and sounds in hurry to get a strawberry ice cream as soon as he
can finish this song off. Supriya Ramakrishnayya looks interested in
strawberries and chocolates; a typical girlie fascination you see!
I am so Bombat:
Mano Murthy thinks Gurukiran is a Bombat singer and gives him another
chance after Madesha. The song is the worst in this album and Gurukiran
has done complete justice to it. Kaviraj joins in the fun with some
intimidating lyrics.
Matinalli Helaballenu(Female Version):
There is a line in this song where singer Shreya Goshal croons, “You
should express your love properly.” We think the line is appropriate
for the person who wrote the song! But tell you what, Jayant Kaikini
almost redeems himself in this song, which is much more positive and
doesn’t suggest that you should die loving. By the way, did we forget
to tell that this is one of Shreya Ghoshal’s best songs in her Kannada
career?
Chinna Hele Hegiruve: Another soulful number
from Mano Murthy. He is almost infallible when he works with Sonu
Nigam. The song is simple, easy on your ears and has a repeat quality.
Shreya Ghoshal hums along beautifully in the song. Enjoy!
