Hat-trick hero Shivrajkumar will soon dazzle fans in Agni Sridhar’s Thamassu. “We wanted the title to be unique and I felt
Thamassu
clearly conveys the mood of the film,” says
Agni
Sridhar who has also penned the story and screenplay of the film. “When
translated, Thamassu roughly means a cruel mind that turns to
meditation. Shivanna plays a violent man in the film.
But he resorts to violence only to fight the evil,” explains the
director. And while Sridhar is known for his ‘real’ films and has also
written the scripts for Aa Dinagalu and Slum Bala, will the audience
see Shivanna wield the longu-macchu in this one? “He won’t be seen with
a longu in this film,” laughs Sridhar adding, “the story gives out a
positive message.” Also in the cast are two heroines and both support
the hero in his mission. “It’s a real-life incident that occurred in
Gujarat and I’ve made it the premise of my film. But it also has
cinematic elements to make it appealing to viewers,” sums up Sridhar.
Thamassu will go on the floors on October 23.

Padmapriya makes her debut in Kannada

Padmapriya, a busy actress in Tamil and Malayalam, makes her debut in Kannada with 'Thamassu', opposite Shivarajkumar.

Shivarajkumar will be seen in the role of an encounter specialist and Padmapriya plays his love interest. Padmapriya plays a human rights activist in the film. A war between the proyagonists is inevitable as the latter cannot bear to see her lover bumping off criminals endlessly. Padmapriya says she was very excited to do the film as her role is very unique.

'Agni' Sridhar who had penned story, screenplay and dialogues for several acclaimed films, is making his debut as a director through this film.

ಚಾಕೋಲೇಟ್ ಹೀರೋನಂತಿರುವ ಲವರ್ ಬಾಯ್ ಇಮೇಜಿನ 'ಮೊಗ್ಗಿನ ಮನಸ್ಸು' ನಾಯಕ ಯಶ್‌ಗೆ ಈಗ ಕೈ ತುಂಬಾ ಆಫರ್. ಕಿರುತೆರೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಟನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರೂ ಯಶ್‌ಗೆ ಹಿರಿತೆರೆಯಲ್ಲೀಗ ಬರೋಬ್ಬರಿ ಕೆಲಸ.

ನಿಜ ಹೇಳಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ, ಯಶ್‌ಗೆ ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಶಿವಣ್ಣನ ಜೊತೆ ಸಣ್ಣ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ನಟಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಆಸೆಯಿತ್ತಂತೆ. ಆ ಆಸೆ ಇದೀಗ ಈಡೇರಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಯಶ್. ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಟಿಸುವ ಅವಕಾಶ 'ತಮಸ್ಸು' ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ದಕ್ಕಿದೆ. ತಮಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಪಾತ್ರವಾದರೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಪಾತ್ರ. ನನಗೆ ಅವಾರ್ಡ್ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದಷ್ಟೇ ಖುಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ಯಶ್.

ತಮಸ್ಸು ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶ್ ಅವರದ್ದು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಹುಡುಗನ ಪಾತ್ರ. ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಹುಡುಗಿಯಾಗಿ ಹರ್ಷಿಕಾ ಪೂಣಚ್ಚ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. ಯಶ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ 'ಗೋಕುಲ' ಚಿತ್ರ ತಂಡ ಮಡಿಕೇರಿಗೆ ಪಾದ ಬೆಳೆಸಿದೆ .ಈ ನಡುವೆ 'ಕಳ್ಳರ ಸಂತೆ' ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೆ ರೆಡಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಂತೂ ಯಶ್ ಈಗ ಫುಲ್ ಬ್ಯುಸಿ. ಅಗ್ನಿ ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ಇದುವರೆಗೂ ಕಥೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆ, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ತಮಸ್ಸು ಮೂಲಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನಕ್ಕೂ ಇಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ
